Your numbers stay with you
FinLII doesn’t need to know who you are. What you type into a journey is saved only in your own browser, so you can pick up where you left off.
What we store, and where
- Journey progress and answers, like the debts you list, your spending plan and your quick-check answers, are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device.
- Your preferences, your province and language, are saved the same way.
- Feedback you give, like tapping “Yes” on “Was this helpful?”, is saved in your browser too. If you then choose to email us, we see only what you send.
- None of this is sent to FinLII. We can’t see it, and it doesn’t follow you to another device or browser.
What we don’t do
- No accounts or sign-up.
- No advertising, tracking cookies or selling of data.
- No analytics. We don’t count visits or track how you use the site. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics, we’ll update this page first.
Other services
- Our fonts are served from finlii.com itself, so no font company sees your visit.
- Copying a plan slip puts its text on your clipboard. It never leaves your device unless you paste it somewhere.
- Links to government, regulator and non-profit sites take you to their websites, where their own privacy policies apply.
If you email us
We see your email address and what you write, and use it only to reply and improve FinLII. We don’t add you to a mailing list and never sell or share it. Questions about privacy? hello@finlii.com.
